A visit to the arieiros peak,
This is just a short post about the arieiros peak that is located in the Madeira island in Portugal back in 2017.
Sinse at the moment all traveling is not happening i decided just to share some places i visited before.
Pico do Arieiro is the third highest peak on Madeira Island at 1818 meters, behind Pico Ruivo at 1862 meters and Pico das Torres at 1851 meters.
If you don’t like hiking, this Pico is recommended for you. It belongs to Funchal and is one of the easiest Picos to reach since it is possible to do it by car. From the top it is possible to see other locations on the island, such as Curral das Freiras, Ponta de São Lourenço and, weather permitting, the island of Porto Santo in the distance.
In addition to enjoying a unique view at this peak, the fact that there is a viewpoint, a café, an inn and a souvenir shop, make your visit more special. It should be noted that this is where the Freira da Madeira Center is located.
Due to the high altitude, when the winter is colder than usual on Madeira Island, Pico is covered by a blanket of snow. It is a rare phenomenon, since the climate in Madeira is hot, which leads the island’s inhabitants to visit the place.
